Founded to foster transparency, inclusion, and conservation of the unique nature of the Morningside neighborhood.

Our Mission

The Morningside Collective exists to support transparent, informed, and inclusive participation in decisions affecting the Morningside neighborhood, while balancing preservation of the unique nature and character of Morningside.

The Collective works to protect the character, environmental integrity, and livability of the community while ensuring that residents have access to accurate information and meaningful opportunities to engage in local civic matters.

The Collective provides a constructive forum where residents can stay informed, exchange perspectives, and participate in discussions regarding infrastructure planning, neighborhood development, environmental stewardship, and community priorities.

Why We exist

Neighborhood decisions work best when residents can see the facts, ask questions, and participate meaningfully.

Many residents have expressed concern about information being filtered or shared selectively and about individuals or groups presenting themselves as if they have governing authority over neighbors.

The Morningside Collective provides a clear alternative: open information, open participation, and clarity about what is—and is not—official authority.

What We Do

  • Share information openly (documents, summaries, timelines, source links)

  • Explain proposals clearly (what is happening, why it matters, where decisions are made)

  • Support resident engagement (meetings, public comments, agency contacts for direct resident engagement)

  • Host a respectful forum for fact-based dialogue and multiple viewpoints

  • Track priorities (trees, drainage, traffic safety, development, infrastructure)

What We Are Not

  • We are not an HOA and do not claim enforcement power over residents or properties.

  • We do not “govern” the neighborhood or speak for all residents.

  • We do not replace public agencies; we help residents engage them effectively.

Our Values

  • Transparency, inclusion, and respect for neighbors and property rights

  • Environmental stewardship (trees, green space, drainage patterns)

  • Constructive civic engagement (respectful, fact-based discussion)
